Insurance and more...

Insurance coverage should not define your treatment plan. It is there for injury and medically necessary care.

Keep Insurance in perspective.

Insurance covers what is medical necessary.  Injury, illness, disease and urgent care is what it’s built for. Lifestyle care, not so much.

Investing in your own BODY is why we make Lifestyle care the next phase, after injury care is defined as complete. It is affordable self pay plans that keep you moving post injury case.

Insurance:

Insurance is there when you need it and excellent for preventative screenings as well. We need to keep insurance in perspective and it’s not equipped for lifestyle care.

  • Make sure you understand your insurance: Many patients find it confusing and stressful to navigate insurance. Call your providers and have them explain what you need to know after all in most cases you are their client.
  • Preventative care: Insurance companies cover preventative care aggressively as keeping you well is an advantage for them and you. Use these covered services identify health conditions early on.
  • State funded healthcare: Absolute necessity and appreciated for those that qualify for state healthcare. It is vital to the community and offers a large array of services. They do in some cases cover some of our services and we are happy to discuss what then means for you with state funded care and VA coverag

Insurance: Complex and Solutions

  • Confusing Coverage: This builds up overtime as more plans are added, revisions, insurance regulations. It is confusing almost as much as taxes. Spend some time with a rep to review so you understand what is covered and what is not.
  • New Transparency regulations:  At IVVY we are fully transparent with our fees, plans and giving you choices and when we can we work with your insurance however, we always provide you the treatment plan that is best based on diagnostics, science of healing and evidence based care. We do not base it on what insurance will cover. After all this is your life. Your Body.
  • SuperBills: You are their client.  When a doctor provides you with a superbill. You pay the fee upfront and then submit   to your own insurance.
  • The often works really well all around as you can decide what care plan is right for you regardless of insurance actuary algorythms. Often have a 15% discount and not wait on approvals.

LifeStyle Care: After an injury or accident is at Maximum Medical Improvement we can move you over to Lifestyle Care that is our inhouse plans self funded.

We do provide a GFE once we know what your plan of choice is.

We are required to provide you a GFE once we assess your unique plan and you can also see our self funded cash pay initial fees on our link here:

PIP Personal Injury Protection and Work Compensation

How PIP Works:

  • PIP is there to cover medical expenses immediatley following an auto collision at “No Fault” Meaning it is not dependent upon who was the at fault driver. It still kicks in for your medical coverage.
  • PIP is specific for medical care coverage, lost wages. In WA state the minimum coverage is $10,000. This means you have immediate coverage so you can get the care you need not out of pocket.
  • PIP works best with doctors that specialize in auto injury medical documentation.
  • The doctors documentation is what they use to enter into Injury Software to make determinations on the claim. Sometimes it straightforward, other times you may need legal counsel to assure fair evidence based settlements. That is for the legal are to discuss with you.

More on PIP:

  •  PIP is very solid and excellent coverage just make sure to get transparency with your medical team on estimated care. It also important that your legal representative is kept up to date with your medical care and in communication with your main “quarterback” lead doctor on the case.

Workers Compensation:

  • Workers Compensation is for injuries sustained on the job or from the job. This is paid through the state and some Unions have additional coverage.
  • The same injury doctors can also evaluate and treat you work injuries it just has a different process in how the bills are submitted and paid.
  • You pay into work comp funds via your company so they are there just for this coverage.
  • Consult with your local L&I specialist for more details and legal counsel if you need it.
